1) Grease the rubber ring on the inside of the handle ratchet.
2) Turn the drag knob fully clockwise as far as possible.
3) Turn the knurled handle keeper and ratchet fully clockwise but not too tight to the drag knob.
4) Turn the forged handle assembly fully clockwise.
5) Turn the knurled handle keeper & ratchet fully counter-clockwise tightly against the forged handle assembly.
You may have to move the forged handle back slightly so that the ratchet teeth mesh with the forged handle.
